Lance Reddick, Voice for Commander Zavala in Destiny 2 Has Died
His publicist today announced that Lance Reddick, long-known to players for his role as Commander Zavala’s voice, has passed away.
Reddick was an actor, and musician, and known for his roles in television series such as The Wire and Fringe.
Reddick also appeared in movies such as the Johnwickseries and Angel Has Fallen. He was known for his dramatic roles but he also made many comedic turns to play on his reputation of being a serious and intense person.
Reddick was an integral part of the Destiny franchise. Many of his lines as Vanguard Commander Zavala became iconic throughout the game’s history.
Reddick was a Warlock fan who occasionally recorded himself reading jokes and memes from other Warlock players. Reddick, the Vanguard’s original voice actor in Destiny2as of Season of Defiance, was replaced by Cayde-6 and Ikora Rey by Bungie.
Bungie has yet to respond to Reddick’s death. It is not known if they will remake Commander Zavala or make him redundant. Reddick was 60. Reddick’s publicist stated that his death was due to natural causes.
