GPS coordinates can be obtained from either the GPS provider or the network provider, if GPS is unavailable.
The open MapQuest API queries the altitude, and returns a more precise result than GPS. This widget can also be used to calculate altitude for hiking (altimeter).
In an emergency, GPS coordinates can save lives (e.g. when you get lost in a mountain).
Features:
o Show your current location in numbers
o Additional information (Street and City, Postal Code, GPS satellite fix).
o Displays your altitude with high accuracy
o Share your location with friends by SMS, Email, and more
o Support for different location formats (Decimal Degrees (UTM), Universal Transverse Mercator(UTM), …)
Note 1: You should turn off widgets when not in use to save battery power. The settings can be used to force the widget’s automatic shut down.
Note 2: This widget does not turn on or off GPS. It is not possible to turn on or off GPS. Get precise information about where you are currently located.
To add widget press: Home->Menu->Add->Widgets->GPS Widget Pro
Because:
o Your location is obvious
o Network communication: query altitude
